ENCOUNTER WITH BROTHER OWODUNNI AFOLARIN KEHINDE

After my encounters with Apostle Joshua Selman in November 2011, i went home as a spirit filled brother. i was eager to speak in tongues and minister to people but i have little or no knowledge about reaching out. It was a difficult task for me but what will i do was the burden in my heart. Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) started their strike in December which continue till January 2020. The period of the strike was you as a pre-training period for myself as i went about speaking in tongues, singing in tongues, laughing in tongue and was just tonguing.

When the strike was call of and i have completed my registration, i became a member of the fellowship on Campus without invitation. It was in my third attendance of the meeting, i was about leaving the school Chapel (Chapel Of Salvation) together with two of my course mates, Joshua Gbenle and Elisha Rimansifu when we met an Usher brother that engage us in a talk until we got to the hostel. The guy was sound biblically and his passion to reach out to we new students was just too impressive. Before we knew, he has demanded for our phone number and hostel room number. He took it as a responsibility to check on us virtually every day. The name of this Usher is Owodunni Afolarin Kehinde.

As times goes on i encouraged me to be part of a subgroup in the fellowship of which he decided to intimate me with his own subgroup. This was how i became a member of Laborer's Theater Drama Ministry, the drama arm of Fellowship of Christian Students (F.C.S). The unit became like my training ground as bro Folarin got me so engaged especially in the praying activities of the Unit.

As Drama weekend was approaching, he called me aside and asked me to join him in a 3 weeks 22 hours fasting which i did. The fasting was the first of it kind i will engage in. Imagine me that was use to breaking my fast at 12 noon or at most 6pm in the evening became someone waiting till 10pm in the night to break. At that moment i didn't understand what i was doing, i just knew i was hungry for God and any one that could feed me with spiritual substance suddenly became my friends.

That fasting was a white fasting that he makes me understand that i will need to break with a white substance like rice without stew, yam without anything or any other food that is whitish in colour. That fasting was the actual engine that open me up to the realm of the supernatural. I fasted that i started seeing in my dreams and visions about the drama weekends. And everything i saw came to past as i have seen it. At interval he will come visiting me and instructing me about matters about life and godliness. I could share anything about me to him and his words have a key to unlock my hardiness heart.

I could remember on my day of screening to enter Laborers, they asked me to close my eyes and walked to the front of the panel. The reason for that then, i don't know but i obeyed and walked to meet the panel. Behold, what i heard was the voice of the costume director saying "Steve, who is standing before you?". I didn't know when i said "Bro Folarin". That was the first time i will learn to see with the inner eyes, that is, the eyes of my mind.

 Not Long, he handed over to my Friend Joshua Gbenle who was then a member of Prayerband. So we decided to be meeting every night at the handball court at the boys hostel to pray. In one of the prayers, i heard him raising a prayer point that till this moment i'm still praying it and benefiting from it. He said in the prayer point and i quote "Lord, make me a reference point for great achievement on campus". This changed everything.

After he graduated, i thought it has come to the point where i will need to struggle to stand alone but again, we got engage in a discussion on 2go. He asked me to interprets dreams for him. He didn't asked me if i could interprets or if i have tried that before. I was confuse, not about interpreting the dreams but about him believing i can without asking if i had done that before. Because i love challenge, i asked him to go on with the dream. He wrote a very long story that got me confuse. The confusion this time is not that i was asked to interprets without asking if i could but that the story is too to draw out any meaning. I couldn't tell him that i can't get meaning from it, after reading it again and again, i asked him to go back and sleep that he will dream, whatever he sees he should let me know. When i said that, why and how i said it; i don't. But he came the following day with another dreams that seemingly look like the completion of the earlier dreams. That was how i started interpreting dreams o. Please notes, the best way to discover new ability or talents is to take challenge of doing new things always.

Ever since he pays us visit, greets and pray with us. He was a friend, a father, a teacher and an instructor. 2nd April, is the "World Folarin Day". He is married to Mrs. Funmilola Owodunni and the marriage is bless with a daughter, born in Oct. 8, 2019.
